Filamentary Silver Art is the most distinctive traditional gold and silver handicraft of the Han nationality in Chengdu city of China. This metal craft has a history of more than 1,700 years, the production of gold and silver wares in Chengdu originated in the Shang Dynasty in 1700 BC, and filamentary gold/silver articrafts appeared in the Han Dynasty, and it has reached a very high artistic level in the Ming and Qing Dynasties of China.
