Polaris at center of the dial, accompanied by other stars. Seven stars of the Big Dipper connected by imaginary lines, forming the shape of a scoop or a dipper.

The center dial rotates anti-clockwise once a day and 365 days in a full rotation, a red triangle on the edge of the center dial points to date on the month ring. Starting from 1:30 going anti-clockwise, there are 4 red scales on the month ring which marks 4 of the Chinese 24 Solar Terms that are also center of each of the 4 seasons, they are: Spring Equinox (春分), Summer Solstice (夏至), Autumn Equinox (秋分) and Winter Solstice (冬至).

Ancient Chinese astromers can use position of the Big Dipper to determine season, inversely, we can use this watch to determine position of the Big Dipper if you're on the Northern Hemisphere: Look into the sky, put the watch between your eyes and the sky, align 6 o'clock (北) to the north, and the position of the Big Dipper should be same on the watch dial.

To set the date one day by one day, push the hidden button at 2 o'clock on case side. To set date faster, pull out crown first click, turn up/clockwise. KEEP IN MIND: 1. After fast-setting the date, you need to turn the crown down/anti-clockwise for at least half turn before other operations. 2. Do NOT use the fast-set-date function during 18:00 ~ 22:00.). Quick date setting. Stop-seconds (hacking) to set time precisely. Precision: -15/+30 sec/day. Jewels: 28. Frequency: 28800 vph. Power reserve: Around 40 hours.
