Shanghai Animation Film Studio was established in 1957, and it has produced over 500 films with around 40,000 minutes of original film data source, covering 80% of Chinese animation production. As one of the most well-known animation, The Monkey King - Uproar in Heaven features many Chinese stage art in the design of the environment, characters, movement reference and beautiful rich color palettes.

Shanghai Watch has worked with the Shanghai Animation Film Studio to present this timepiece. The watch features the traditional building-shaped Shanghai Watch logo and the Monkey King logo of the Shanghai Animation Film Studio at 12 o'clock, and outline of the auspicious clouds and the Lingxiao Palace are visible on the dial. On the case back engraves the figure of the Monkey King.
